ONEVOICE27 PRAYER VIGIL — TEACH US TO PRAY
Script 1
On September 406—The South Pacific Division will be holding a OneVoice27 Prayer Vigil.
Across the South Pacific Division and around the world, we will come together with one purpose-—to seek God.
In Luke 11, the disciples came to Jesus with a simple but profound request: “Lord, teach us to pray.”
They had watched Jesus. They had seen that prayer was not simply something He added to His day. Prayer was at the heart of His relationship with His Father. Before important decisions, in moments of ministry, and even when He needed rest, Jesus made time to pray.
We want to make the disciples’ prayer our prayer:
Lord, teach us to pray.
Teach us to seek You before we make our plans.
Teach us to listen before we speak.
Teach us to depend on Your power rather than our own abilities.
Teach us to pray deeply, faithfully and expectantly.
As we begin this time of prayer, let’s remember that OneVoice27 is not simply a communications initiative. It is a spiritual mission.
In 2027, as we commemorate 2,000 years since the earthly ministry of Jesus, we want people everywhere to rediscover who Jesus is—the way He lived, the salvation He offers and the hope of His soon return.
But before we proclaim Jesus, we must spend time with Jesus.
So on September 4-6,
wherever you are joining from, quiet your heart for a moment.
Ask God to remove distractions.
Ask the Holy Spirit to lead this time.
And make this simple request your own:
“Lord, teach me to pray.”
Let us pray.
Prayer focus: Father, deepen our relationship with Jesus. Forgive us for the times prayer has become routine or secondary. Create within us a hunger for Your presence. Teach us to pray as Jesus prayed and make prayer the foundation of OneVoice27. Amen.
ONEVOICE27 PRAYER VIGIL — REVIVAL BEGINS WITH US
You’re invited to join us for a time of united prayer for OneVoice27.
We often pray for God to change our churches, our communities and our world. We pray for people to discover Jesus. We pray for revival.
But prayer also changes the person who prays.
As we pray for OneVoice27 on September 4-6, God wants to do something not only through us, but within us.
Our greatest strength is not our technology, creativity, resources or communication skills. Our greatest strength is God working through people who have surrendered themselves completely to Him.
OneVoice27 has a bold vision: to call people to rediscover the life of Jesus and proclaim His gospel through personal witness and every available communication platform, culminating in a united global harvest on September 25, 2027.
That vision cannot be accomplished by human effort alone.
We need the Holy Spirit.
We need revival.
And revival begins when God's people humble themselves and seek His face.
During this prayer vigil on September 4-6, we are not asking God simply to bless our plans. We are asking Him to shape our plans.
We are not asking God simply to give us a message. We are asking Him to make us faithful messengers.
We are not asking only for others to encounter Jesus. We are asking for a fresh encounter with Jesus ourselves.
Take a moment now to speak personally with God.
Ask Him:
What needs to change in my relationship with You?
What do I need to surrender?
Where have I been depending on myself instead of depending on You?
And then ask the Holy Spirit to begin His work in you.
Invite your friends to join us on September 4-6 for a South Pacific wide prayer vigil
Let us pray.
Prayer focus: Lord, begin revival in us. Give us humble hearts and a deeper love for Jesus. Fill every church, family and individual involved in OneVoice27 with Your Holy Spirit. Transform us so that our lives communicate Jesus as clearly as our words do. Amen.
ONEVOICE27 PRAYER VIGIL: September 4-6
PRAY FOR ONE PERSON
As we plan for our OneVoice27 Prayer Vigil on September 4-6,
I invite you to think of one person.
Perhaps it’s a family member.
A friend.
A neighbour.
A colleague.
Someone you haven't spoken to for years.
Or perhaps someone who follows you online but has never met Jesus personally.
Can you picture that person?
OneVoice27 has a global vision, but global mission happens one person at a time.
We can talk about reaching millions through social media, YouTube, radio, television, podcasts, websites, print and digital media—and we pray that God will use all of these.
But behind every view, every click, every screen and every conversation is a person.
A person Jesus loves.
A person Jesus died to save.
A person Jesus wants to welcome into His kingdom.
Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can begin reaching that person.
Before you send them a message—pray.
Before you invite them to church—pray.
Before you share something about Jesus online—pray.
Ask the Holy Spirit to go before you.
And remember: prayer may change their circumstances, but God may also use prayer to change you—giving you greater compassion, courage, patience and wisdom.
So right now, bring that one person before God.
Say their name in prayer.
Ask God to work in their life.
Ask Him to reveal Jesus to them.
Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare opportunities for meaningful conversations.
And then ask a courageous question:
“Lord, how can You use me to introduce this person to Jesus?”
Join us: September 4-6
Let us pray.
Prayer focus: Father, we bring before You the people You have placed in our lives. Draw them toward Jesus. Prepare their hearts to receive the gospel and prepare our hearts to share it with love. Give us opportunities to listen, serve, speak and share our faith. May OneVoice27 ultimately be about people discovering Jesus. Amen.
ONEVOICE27 PRAYER VIGIL: SEPTEMBER 4-6
EVERY PLATFORM FOR JESUS
Today, the gospel can travel around the world in seconds.
A video recorded in one country can be watched in another.
A testimony shared on social media can reach someone we may never meet.
A podcast can enter a home.
A radio program can reach an isolated community.
A conversation can begin through a message on a phone.
OneVoice27 invites believers to use every available communication channel to proclaim Jesus—social media, YouTube, internet platforms, radio, television, podcasts, print, digital media and, most importantly, personal witness.
But having the technology is not enough.
Having the audience is not enough.
Having good content is not enough.
We need the Holy Spirit.
Before we communicate the gospel, we must seek God's direction.
So during this prayer vigil on September 4-6, we want to dedicate every platform, every device, every creative idea and every communication opportunity to God.
Think about what God has placed in your hands.
Maybe you’re a filmmaker, designer, writer, pastor, teacher, photographer, communicator or musician.
Maybe you simply have a phone and a social media account.
Maybe your greatest platform is your kitchen table, workplace or friendship circle.
Whatever God has given you can become an opportunity for mission.
Ask Him:
“Lord, what have You placed in my hands that You want to use?”
And then:
“Who can I reach for Jesus?”
Join us on September 4- 6 for the Prayer Vigil.
Let us pray.
Prayer focus: Lord, we dedicate every communication channel to You. Give wisdom and creativity to those producing OneVoice27 content. Guide filmmakers, writers, designers, pastors, churches, media teams and individual members. Help us use technology wisely and faithfully. May every platform point beyond ourselves and lead people to Jesus Christ, His salvation and His soon return. Amen.
ONEVOICE27 PRAYER VIGIL — SEPTEMBER 4–6
Script No. 5 — An Invitation to Pray
Something significant is coming.
From September 4–6, we invite you to join our inaugural OneVoice27 Prayer Vigil—a special time when our church family will unite in prayer, seeking God’s presence, His guidance and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Because before there is mission, there must be prayer.
Before we make our plans, we pray.
Before we communicate, we pray.
Before we go, we pray.
And as we look toward OneVoice27 and the united global harvest on September 25, 2027, we want to begin where Jesus began—with His Father.
OneVoice27 is a global initiative calling people to rediscover the life of Jesus and proclaim His gospel through personal witness and every available communication platform.
But this mission doesn’t begin in September 2027.
It begins now.
It begins when someone decides to tell a friend what Jesus means to them.
It begins when a church discovers new ways to reach its community.
It begins when a young person uses their creativity for the gospel.
It begins when someone chooses to use their digital presence intentionally for Jesus.
And it begins when God’s people pray.
Imagine what could happen if, across the South Pacific and around the world, we united in prayer and asked God:
“What gift have You given me?”
“What platform have You entrusted to me?”
“Who have You placed within my influence?”
“How do You want me to proclaim Jesus?”
OneVoice27 will only fulfil its purpose if we humble ourselves, seek God’s face and follow where He leads.
That’s why we’re inviting you to join us from September 4–6 for the OneVoice27 Prayer Vigil.
Join us on Zoom.
Join with your church.
Join with your family and friends.
And wherever you are, set aside time to pray.
Pray for revival.
Pray for the Holy Spirit.
Pray for people who need Jesus.
Pray for our churches, communicators, creators and digital platforms.
And pray that God will show each of us our place in OneVoice27.
Ask Him for one person to pray for.
One opportunity to pursue.
One gift to use.
One step of faith to take.
And together, may we be ready to say:
“Here I am, Lord. Use me.”
Join us September 4–6 for the OneVoice27 Prayer Vigil.
Let’s seek God together.
Let’s listen together.
Let’s pray together.
And then, by the power of the Holy Spirit, let’s go together.
