Pastor Pablo, who recently joined the SPD team, believes the initiative comes at a pivotal moment in the life of the Church.
“This is an exciting time for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific,” said Pastor Pablo Lillo. “We have new initiatives that are changing the direction of the church. We’re more focused on mission than ever before.”
While pastors, evangelists and lay preachers are travelling throughout the Pacific during Trans Pacific Union Mission for Christ campaigns, OneVoice27 provides an opportunity for every church member to participate in evangelism, regardless of their age, profession or location.
"Not everyone can preach from a pulpit or travel on an evangelistic campaign," Pastor Lillo said. "But almost everyone has a smartphone and a voice. OneVoice27 is about using those everyday tools to introduce people to Jesus."
At the heart of OneVoice27 is the person of Jesus Christ—the Saviour of the world who loves, forgives, restores and offers eternal life. The initiative calls on church members to use their gifts, creativity and digital platforms to share their love for Him in ways that are authentic, engaging and accessible.
The need has never been greater. It is estimated that 3.4 billion people around the world still do not know Jesus. Many have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel. Some live where Christian witness is limited, while others are surrounded by technology yet remain spiritually disconnected from God.
For Pastor Lillo, digital mission presents one of the greatest evangelistic opportunities in history.
"Never before has a single message been able to travel across the globe in seconds," he said. "A testimony recorded in Sydney can be watched moments later in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Tuvalu or the Cook Islands. A Bible verse, a short video or a personal story of faith can reach someone who may never walk through the doors of a church."
“While digital content is the vehicle, meaningful connection is the mission. OneVoice27 exists to use social media and digital platforms to introduce people to Jesus, build authentic relationships, and help individuals take their next step toward Him.”
As the South Pacific Division continues to strengthen its focus on mission, Pastor Lillo believes every church member has an important role to play.
"God has placed unprecedented opportunities in our hands," he said. "Together, with one voice, we can share one message—Jesus—to the Pacific and beyond."
